How FLASH Template Works

Using the template approach method you will take  many advantages with the creating of your flash video file. The big question “Why using template method will make my work easier?”, is often asked by developers. With flash template you can display several different sections of video, but you will build only one template page to accomplish the task. By separating the video, image, and text content from the Flash movie (SWF file), you can reuse a single page layout by simply swapping out its content . The content is placed into a folders very similar with those of web sites. When browser plays the SWF file, it loads the XML file to supply the showcase with a definition of video sections. From there the SWF file use ActionScript to load images, text or videos from their locations. The big advantage by using this method is that you can edit your content every time you want without creating new layout again and again. This method is very time and cost-effective and helps you to spend time and money.

These are steps of developing process:

  1. Decide how many video sections to show and how many chapters (cue points) within each section to show.
  2. Edit the FLA file to create the look and feel of the application and lay out the buttons and controls as desired.
  3. Encode your section videos and create the images to be used as the chapter buttons.
  4. Update the XML definitions file to include your video sections and related content.
